The Congress of South African Trade Union with its affiliates today embarked on a mass action against, what they call the exploitation of the poor workers and the attitude of some councillors towards service delivery to the poor communities who elected them.

Cosatu Provincial Secretary Solly Phetoe said, as part of their program in defending the members in the mining sector, municipalities, retailer, cleaning sector, security, manufacturing, textile and agriculture sectors and all departments of provincial government, and the domestic sector, they are taking their members to the streets on one day action every week.

Phetoe said they will hand over their memorandum to the MEC of Economics in the North West and later move to the municipality of Moses Kotana where six criminals were arrested for stealing taxpayers’ money.

He added that their programs will also be going in the area of Swartruggens at Mazista where they will be dealing with racist attitudes, exploitation of workers by farmers and the continuation of councillors.
