Minister Fikile Mbalula's flight bills under investigation

The Public Protector is currently investigating the alleged over spending of flight bills of Minister Fikile Mbalula.

Despite the ongoing investigation of previously emerged information by the public protector on these allegations, it has once again come under the eye of the public protector that an added 6.6 million has gone into footing the Ministers flight bill.

The DA’s Piera Abbott has requested that Minister Mbalula provide the DA with a breakdown of the department’s travel and subsistence spending for the past year.

Piera adds that the Department of Sport and Recreation’s focus should be on developing the future stars and not on trying to set new records for numerous flier miles utilising public funds.
