SARS makes a huge cocaine bust

The South African Revenue Service has uncovered 3kilograms of drugs with an estimated value of more than R7 million on Monday.

SARS said the suspected smuggler, was allegedly trying to smuggle the cocaine from South America to South Africa.

SARS' Spokesperson Adrian Lackay said authorities found eleven kilograms of cocaine in the possession of another suspect.

Media Officer Maria Marieka said a white powder was identified on his laptop, and upon investigation it was found that he had about 3kg of cocaine.

Marieka added that the suspect has been handed over to the South African Police Services.
