President
Jacob Zuma has joined a raft of political parties and other organisations in
extending good wishes to all Grade 12 learners who will begin writing their
examinations today.
More than half-a-million matrics will sit for the National Senior Certificate exams.
The President says after an improvement in the matric percentage pass over the past few years, the government now wants to see an increase in the number of learners passing at bachelor's level and also an improvement in the results of mathematics and science papers.
More than 527,000 full-time Grade 12’s have registered for this year's exams.
