16 Days of Activism: confronting inequality

The 16 days of Activism and for No Violence Against Women and Children started today.

Women and children face intolerably high levels of violence.

At least one in three women wil be raped in their lifetime, while an estimated 150 children are raped in South Africa everyday.

DA Cameron Arendse said all South Africans should take part in this campaign to ensure that all problems and solutions are highlighted during this campaign are integrated in their disclosure and action as work everyday to create an environment where South African women and children can thrive.

“Inequality in income, status and access to services and support make women and children vulnerable to pervasive levels of abuse” Arendse said.
