Thousands of 1time employees are now out of work ahead of the festive season after a possible sale of the low cost airline fell through and they were forced to apply for provisional liquidation.

This according to trade union Solidarity who represent some of the airline’s employees.

The union’s Marius Croukamp says the workers they represent were asked to complete forms today and could be first in line to get paid should the company be liquidated.

He said that that will become preferential claimants only upon liquidation of 1time and they will be paid first if and when the funds are available.

They will also be assisted with finding jobs as they are all currently under immense strain.
