The South African Municipal Workers Union in the North West province has called on the MEC of Local Government China Dodovu to investigate corruption and maladministration in the province’s municipalities.

Samwu Spokesperson Tahir Sema said the MEC has not acted on their first call to act decisively in managing and running the Local Government.

Sema says they want the MEC to investigate the appointment of Molatlhegi Kgauwe to the position of Chief Financial Officer, because he is alleged to be related to the Executive Mayor.

He added that they have submitted all their claims to the office of the MEC and he fails they will call for the MEC to step down.
