The Institute for Security Studies says police management should take some of the blame for the brutal and arrogant attacks in the Marikana massacre and the death of Free State
The Institute’s Johan Burger said training is an extremely important aspect of policing in general, especially specialized units.
Burger said for the units to perform their duties effectively their training must be adequate.
He added that management is the one that has to ensure that all training techniques have been done correctly.
