The National Lotteries Board has distanced itself from a scam in which bogus agents claim to be acting on behalf of the Lotteries Board.

So-called agents sell application forms to beneficiaries and guarantee lottery funding in exchange for a commission.

Lotteries Board spokesperson, Sershan Naidoo, has warned the public  that no one has the authority to sell Lotto funding application forms, request payment for workshops, or request payment of commission before or after the application process.

Naidoo said that lottery board wants to confirm and let the public know that they did not have any agent staff doing any work on behalf of them they have their own staff going out.

If the public has any further queries they should call the lotteries board immediately and he adds that they do not believe people should be charged for any application process whatsoever.

And that all these application processes were overseen  by government.
