Mbeki cautions against fracking

Former president Thabo Mbeki has cautioned against fracking in the Karoo.

He was addressing the World Wildlife Fund conference in the Western Cape.

Environmentalists gathered to discuss how best to preserve the country's wildlife and natural resources.

The discussions ranged from rhino poaching to environmental challenges.

Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan said government is contemplating a carbon tax.
