The DA today announced that Nosimo Balindlela has left Cope and joined the party.

The DA says Balindlela is a former ANC Premier of the Eastern Cape, a former member of the ANC National Executive Committee and was until this morning, a sitting member of Parliament for Cope.

DA leader Helen Zille says her party is trying to build a new non-racial majority in the country and believes Balindlela to be a person of integrity, with core values that will take the country forward.

A short while ago the ANC released a statement saying it is dismayed at the DA’s claim that Balindlela was a member of the ANC’s National Executive Committee.
