Organisations vow to fight house demolition in Lenasia

The South African Communist Party, Congress of South African Trade Unions, South African National Civic Organisation and the Concerned Lenasia Residents Association held a meeting with the Chairperson of the South African Human Rights Commission.

The purpose of the meeting was to discuss the demolition of houses of the Lenasia residents by the Gauteng Provincial Department of Housing.

The SAHRC was applauded for proactively instituting a court application to prevent and protect violation of human rights.

SACP`s Jacob Mamabolo said they appreciate what the HRC has done.

The houses were demolished on the 8th and 9th of November.
