A call to end suffering in Congo

President Armando Guebuza of Mozambique and Chairperson of SADC discussed the political and security situation in the DRC during his address at the SADC Extra-Ordinary Summit on Sunday in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

The SADC Extra-Ordinary Summit, attended by heads of state of the SADC member countries and governments.

 Extra-Ordinary Summits are called to consider urgent and pressing peace and security matters that threaten the essence of regional cooperation and integration.  

Guebuza said the political and the security situation in the Eastern Democratic Republic of Congo and the continuing suffering of the people of Congo have made it imperative that all relevant actors at the national regional to join efforts to call for peace.
