Film industry big part of the economy

Today, Western Cape Minister of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism, Alan Winde announced that promoting Cape Town and the Western Cape as a film destination is part of Wesgro’s mandate.

 Wesgro is the official Destination Marketing, Investment and Trade promotion agency for the Western Cape.

 Since 2010, various film productions have created thousands of job opportunities in the region.

 Minister Winde adds that a sector engagement with the film industry as it is a very important sector in the economy, they are very brood and thy represent both local and international filmmakers, stills photography, advertising, to the industry of application, IT technology and also to the animation sector which is also very important.

It creates a number of jobs and is worth billions to the to the economy and it is  also worth thousands and thousands of jobs.
