Police Minister Nathi Mthethwa`s application to have the Khayelitsha commission of inquiry stopped was heard today at the Western Cape High Court.

Mthethwa's lawyer argued that the Khayelitsha Commission of Inquiry is unlawful.

The commission was established by Premier Helen Zille in August to investigate accusations of police inefficiency in the area.

The Right2Know Campaign Murray Hunter said they support the call by the community based organisations to reinstated the commision.

Hunter  said the commission would halp to establish why the community says there is a crisis in policing in the area.
