Carlisle spokesperson Sipheshile Dube said the initiative is part of the department’s
behavioural economic technique that is aimed at establishing a culture of
obeying road rules by promoting responsible road use and responsible driving.
Motorists in the Western Cape have been
encouraged to drive carefully on the roads, especially during the festive
season.
Soon two motorists will
be rewarded by the Western Cape government, for good driving and good behaviour on the road.
Provincial MEC for
transport and Public Works Robin Carlisle launched a campaign that will see two
randomly selected motorists winning R25 000 each for good behaviour on the
roads.
Dube added that all
motorists in the province are automatically entered into the draw.
