Abahlali Basemjondolo today visited the shack fire victims in Khayelitsha and handed out used doors, mattresses, food, new school uniforms and other items.
Abahlali Basemjondolo Provincial Spokesperson Thembelani Maqwazima said they have been able to acquire these items through their own means.
Maqwazima further said most of the aid that is meant to go to the victims of the fire, are being given out by Disaster Management (associated with the DA) or by SANCO and various NGOs (associated with the ANC).
He adds that the elected executive committee of QQ Section has been working with friends and relatives in BM Section to identify all those fire victims who have fallen through the cracks.
