Accident kills one and leaves seven in a critical condition

A man was killed when a car crashed into the back of the taxi he was travelling in on Beyers Naude Drive, in Cresta, Johannesburg.

Netcare911 spokesperson Chris Botha said the man's body was trapped in the wreckage.

Chris Botha said upon arrival paramedics found that tragically a backseat passenger in the taxi died on impact due to the extensive injuries he sustained.

Botha explains that nine other passengers were injured two of them are in a serious condition and the others managed to escape with minor injuries.

Botha adds that they were all treated on scene and then transported to nearby hospitals for further care.
