The African National Congress has called on the Congress of South African Trade Union’s Western Cape secretary general, Tony Ehrenreich and farm workers to suspend their industry strike actions in favour of talks with farmers on wage and working conditions.

The farm workers resumed their strike action on Wednesday after wage negotiations since late last year.

The workers are demanding a daily wage of R150 per day.

ANC Western Cape leader Marius Fransmann called on organisations and the farmers to go back to the negotiation table.
