The Food and Allied Workers Union,t he National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa and the South African Catering, Commercial and Allied Workers Union all affiliated to the Congress of South African Trade Unions will be holding a Press Conference today at Numsa Head office.

The purpose of the Press Conference will be to announce detailed mass work and political strategies that these formations will unleash against Eskom’s Third Multi-Year Price Determination application to the National Energy Regulator of South Africa.

National Spokesperson Castro Ngobese said that if their application goes through, it will have a negative impact on the country’s economy.

“Thousands of workers are going to lose jobs; and as unions that are representatives of workers, we can’t afford to see more workers on the street” Ngobese said.
