DA says ANC government failed to deliver on job promises

The Democratic Alliance today said the likelihood that the country will reach the five million jobs target set out in the New Growth Plan is highly unlikely.

DA Shadow minister of Economic Development Haniff Hoosen said a similar conclusion had been reached by the International Labour Organisation and Oxfam last week, that Minister of Economic Development Ebrahim Patel should admit that the NGP has failed to chart a new course.

Hoosen said that the ANC government has never met the promises that it has made over the past years.

"We have pointed that out to government on a number of occasions, yet they still go on making promises producing these jobs; the reality is that the target that has been made has never been reached" Hoosen added.
