The Democratic Alliance has withdrawn from participating in the New Age business briefing.

DA’s Cameron Arendse said he has written to the editor of the New Age Moegsien Williams.

He added that one of the reasons for the DA not attending is that a report based on a parliamentary reply to a DA question, revealed that the New Age Business Breakfasts are sponsored by State Owned Enterprises using public money.

Arendse said that the Breakfast is funded by Transnet R17,5 million paying and Eskom paying R7.2 million.

“The DA can not continue participate, it is not acceptable or sensible for public money to be used to bank roll a privately owned newspaper and indirectly the cost is of the ANC”
