The National Sea Rescue Institute volunteers in Durban have found the body of a 22 year-old man that went missing on Monday.

The man was swept to sea in the surf at St Lucia Beach.

NSRI Spokesperson Craig Lambinon said that despite an ongoing search of the man yesterday, no sign of the man could not be found.

“This morning, KZN Wildlife Rangers and police located and recovered the body of the man, who was found washed up on the beach” Lambinon said.

The body has been handed over to the forensic pathology services.

“Police have opened an inquest docket to investigate the incident” Lambinon added.
