The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa members working at the state-owned manufacturer company Denel have downed tools.

The members have downed tools due to a long outstanding dispute against Denel in relation to wage disparities.

NUMSA National Sector Coordinator Steve Nhlapo said there is a history in this company that they still use the whole apartheid system to pay workers and those workers who are doing ten jobs but are handled different.

Nhlapo adds that it has been ten years now that NUMSA has been raising the issue with the company but the company failed to deal with those issues.
Nhlapo furthermore said that workers have decided to embark on protected action
