The National Treasury on Wednesday announced that the transfer of funds to the African National Congress led Nala Municipality in the Free State has been stopped.

This follows the Auditor General’s findings that there are financial mismanagement.

The Democratic Alliance’s David Ross said this is the first time such an intervention has taken place.

Ross added that the intervention in terms of section 2162 of the constitution is welcomed by the DA.
