The North West Premier Thandi Modise will today meet with the Ivory Coast Ministers in Rustenburg.

The Ministers and the Premier are expected to discuss relations between Ivory Coast and the Province.

This meeting takes place ahead of the Ivory Coast and Togo Orange 2013 African Cup of Nations this evening.

Premier’s Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele explains further that the Premier said AFCON is just a sporting event but presents countries on the continent with an opportunity to strengthen relations and take forward issues of development and mutual interests.

Kgwele adds that Ivory Coast has expressed an interest particularly in the African culture of the North West Province as well as a touring course.

The North West Province is the only province that has an institute of tourism.

Kgwele said the department is expecting out of this engagement student exchanges and other forms of collaboration to emerge.
