Police conference expected to bring positive changes

The Minister of Police, Nathi Mthethwa, the Deputy Minister of Police, Ms Makhotso Sotyu and the National Commissioner of Police, General Riah Phiyega will hold a two-day planning meeting with the all the South African Police Service Station Commanders, Cluster Commanders, Provincial Commissioners and Top Management in Geuteng .

Spokesperson for police Zweli Mnisi explains that the police leadership will be meeting today with all the station commanders from around the country, this two day workshop is aimed at reviewing some of the programmes and strategies that they have in the fight against crime.

Mnisi adds that it is also to identify those challenges which have hampered the fight against crime.

Mnisi said that after the two day leadership they should be able to have a better plan of action and the way forward should in terms of how we handle these issues and ensure that the police know how to handle crime and deal a blow to crime.
