Police investigating murder of a 50 year old man from Plumstead

Police are investigating the death of a 50 year old Plumstead man after his body was found strangled in his flat.

Diep river police confirmed that they found the body of the man known as Graham Collop in his second floor flat in Protea place on Sunday night.

Provincial police Spokesperson Warrent Officer November Filander said the deceased was found in his house laying in the lounge wrapped in a blanket with a rope around his neck.

Filander said the man was declared dead on the scene and the circumstances surrounding the death of the deceased and how the suspect or suspects entered the house are still being investigated.

The police have opened a murder case, and the motive for the murder is also unknown at this stage.
