Early child Development centres to expand in the North West Province

 The North West province will expand the access to early child Development Centres to children in rural communities.

The programme targets to reach over 20,6% of children between zero and 4 years old.

 The announcement for the programme was made during the opening of the provincial legislature on Friday.

Premier Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele adds that the premier reported that 26.4% of children who are supposed to be at ECD centres have access to the programme.   

Kgwele said that to address the challenge, the province has encourage a partnership with the department of social development and Ilifa labantwana national early child hood development programme to expand access to rural communities.

Kgwele furthmore said that nutritional programmes are also used as value based measure for growth awareness of children.
