Four drucken drivers arrested in traffic roadblocks across the province

Last night in the Western Cape the traffic services held 12 roadblocks throughout the province on all national and main routes and they stopped 1 737 vehicles in these roadblocks.

Traffic chief Kenny Africa said a total of 661 drivers were checked for alcohol.

Africa adds that they then arrested 4 drunken drivers of which the highest reading was recorded in the Oudtshoorn area.

Africa said there was also three other arrests, motorists that were arrested for being in possession of drugs the type of drugs that they confiscated was dagga, Tik and also mandrags.

Africa said the total amount of fines issued 1, 7800 and they also tested the speed of 16 456 motor vehicles and they prosecuted 749 drivers for exceeding the speed limit.
