The Khayelitsha Commission of Inquiry has noted the Minister of Police and others have served notice of their intention to appeal to the Constitutional Court.

This is against the finding of the Western Cape High Court dismissing their application to prevent the Commission from serving subpoenas on members of the police.

The Commission has stated that it will abide by the decision of the Constitutional Court.

Secretary of the Commission of Inquiry Amanda Dissel said complainants have been coming to the office to make complaints to them and statements regarding their experience with the police.

Dissel said they have also been collecting evidence from a number of experts and other evidence they have been able to find and others that are in the process of collecting.

Dissel adds that they will keep on pending the appeal process before the constitutional court and at some point in the near future that they will be announcing their public hearings.
