Numsa rejects the redeployment of the Mayor

The National Union of Metalworkers of South Africa has rejected the planned intention by the African National Congress to redeploy the current Mayor of the Nelson Mandela Bay Municipality Zanoxolo Wayile to the National Assembly.

Numsa believes that the deployment of Wayile to his position as Executive Mayor was a shared outcome of the Alliance.

Eastern Cape Numsa General Secretary Phumzile Nodongwe said Numsa and Cosatu will remain oppose to the call, because there are a lot of issues that needed to be resolved first.

Nodongwe added that this kind of political turmoil existing in the province is causing delays in the service delivery.
