Robbery in Salt River fastfood outlet

In the early hours of this morning, Continental fishery in Salt River was robbed.

It is alleged that three armed man were involved in the robbery.

Shop owner Jose Elvis said that the three armed men ordered him and a staff member to lie on the floor and emptied the contents of the till.


“The man entered the shop and asked for hot chips; when I went to the back I saw one man stand behind me with a gun” Elvis said.

The men allegedly asked him for the key to the safe, which he does not have, and told them he stored his money in drawers.

The men fled the scene with an estimated amount of R16 000.

Warrant Officer John Mashicila confirmed that a robbery docket has been opened, and police are investigating the matter.

No arrests have been made yet.
