A female in a critical condition after being knocked down by a train

Emergency Medical Services today responded to an accident at the Salt River Station. 

When paramedics arrived on the scene they found an adult female stuck under a train. 

EMS spokesperson Keri Davids said the adult female is in a critical condition and she sustained double amputation to both her legs.

Davids added that EMS paramedics transported her to Groote Schuur Hospital. 

The exact details of the accident are not known at this stage but police are investigating.
