The South African Transport and Allied Workers Union on Friday said a strike in the industry is looming.

This follows wage talks with bus companies and unions which have deadlocked since February.

A strike could mean people intending to take long trips over the Easter holidays could be affected.

Satawu’s Spokesperson Vincent Masoga said currently they have a certificate to embark on a particular strike but for now they are waiting for the outcome of various caucuses of various structures and then a decision will be taken once all the causes have been concluded.
