An accident leaves 1 person dead and 18 people injured

 On Monday, one man died while seventeen others were injured, after a taxi overturned on the N2 North near the Umkomaas off ramp.

Reports indicate that the taxi was travelling from Izingolweni to Durban when the driver lost control while crossing the Umkomaas river bridge.

 Netcare 911`s Chris Botha said when they arrived on the scene and found a total of 18 people injured and the driver tragically died on scene due to extensive injuries he had sustained.

Botha added that one other person was in critical condition.

There were 11 people with serious injuries and 5 of them escaped with minor injuries.

Botha further added that they were all treated on scene and transported to various hospitals for further care.
