Farmer’s decomposing body found in North West

The North West Community on Saturday was shocked by the discovery of a farmer’s decomposing body.

The body of the 51 year-old dog breeder was discovered after a week and his 78 year-old mother was locked in the bathroom.

The 78 year-old mother, who is suffering from Alzheimer's disease was found dehydrated and rushed to hospital and it is reported that she is recovering well.

North West Premier Thandi Modise has expressed shock and condemned the murder of Eric Labuschane.

Premier’s Spokesperson Lesiba Moses Kgwele said the Premier has called for the farmers to keep regular contact with each other as part of crime prevention strategy and in support of the rural safety plan.

Kgwele further called on police to leave no stone unturned in their investigations.

Labuschane`s body was discovered after his landlord noticed a strong smell and summoned the police who broke the door to gain access and his body was found in the main bedroom.

Kgwele said the police have confirmed that Labuschane`s bakkie and two cell phones are missing.

No one has been arrested in connection with the murder.
