Fourteen people injured after a taxi collided with a heavy goods vehicle

Fourteen people were injured after a taxi collided into the rear of a heavy goods vehicle along Beyers Naude Drive, Randburg.

Netcare 911’s Chris Botha said reports indicate that the accident occurred late yesterday afternoon on Christiaan de Wet Road, after the taxi rear ended the truck the vehicle overturned.

Botha adds that Netcare 911 paramedics the fire department and several other services arrived at the scene and found the crumpled wreckage of the taxi and accident debris littering the road.

Furthermore Botha said that after triaging the injured they found that two people sustained serious injuries while the remainder miraculously escaped with minor injuries.

 “The injured was Stabilized on scene before transporting them to various hospitals in the area for the care that they required” said Botha.
