The Western Cape MEC of Housing MEC
Bonginkosi Madikizela on Monday launched the rectification program in Beaufort
West.
64 houses were erected in the area during
the early 1980’s.
The houses are still owned by the Beaufort West Municipality
Ministerial Spokesperson Bruce Oom said
that the houses are old and might start to fall down because their quality wasn’t
good.
“Minister has found R4.8 million of funding
to ensure that the houses can be marked down and rebuilt so that they can be saved”
Oom added.
