Older men blamed for infecting young girls with HIV

Media reports today revealed that at least 28 percent of schoolgirls across the country are HIV positive.

The report said that only four percent of boys at schools were HIV positive.

Health Minister Aaron Motsoaledi at the National Council of Provinces event in Carolina, Mpumalanga said it is clear that, it is not young boys who are sleeping with these girls, it is older men.

Ministerial Spokesperson Joe Maila said there is an urgent need to take a stand against sugar daddies because they are destroying our children.

Maila further said a lot of young girls visit clinics, seeking to have abortion but unfortunately they also find out that they have also contracted the virus.
