The Democratic Alliance has asked Minister of Defence and Military Veterans Nosiviwe Mapisa-Nqakula to bring clarity when it comes to the Central African Republic.

Last week South African National Defence Force Chief, General Solly Shokwe indicated that he was waiting for political decisions on how to proceed in the CAR.

Over the weekend Brigadier General Xolani Mabanga said the SANDF are awaiting government instructions on whether to send more troops or withdraw from CAR.

DA Member of Parliament David Maynier said every day seems like a new horror comes up from the CAR.

Maynier said the Defence Minister need to withdraw the troops immediately and tell the public what is going in CAR.

DA Spokesperson Cameron Arendse said they will table a motion to force President Jacob Zuma to withdraw the troops.

This comes after 13 South African soldiers were killed in CAR.
