Higher Education Transformation Network has
welcomed the decision by the Judicial Services Commission to recommend the
appointment of Judge Ledwaba as Deputy Judge President of the North Gauteng
High Court.

Executive Director Reginald Legoabe said they are pleased that the JSC has
considered our objections against appointment of High Court Judge Cynthia
Pretorius as Deputy Judge President of the North Gauteng High Court.
Legoabe said that due to the conduct of
Judge Pretorius’ conduct in the court room; they do not feel like she would be
the right candidate for the Deputy Judge President position.
“Her failure to appreciate the diversity of
our country and to be sensitive to the needs of the common person” Legoabe
added.
