Minister Motshekga raises concern regarding SADTU's work to rule protest

Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga has raised her concern regarding the South African Democratic Teachers Union embarking on a work to rule protest.

Sadtu says it wants the minister and her director general Bobby Soobryan to resign. 

Motshekga said they will continue to engage with Sadtu to find a solution soon. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Panyaza Lesufi said it is an unfortunate and emotional decision that SADTU has taken purely because they have been in discussion with the union.

Lesufi added that all the issues they are raising now are completely different to the issues that they have engaged with and therefore they the department feels that there are issues outside the issues they have already discussed.

Furthermore Lesufi added that as a department they have put measures in place to ensure that the are minimal disruptions and according to reports received thus far nothing major has taken place.
