Premier’s Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said the Premier called for skills transfer to take place to build capacity within municipalities when consultants are employed.
The North West Premier Thandi Modise
said the R29 million spend by municipalities in consultants does not correspond
with the audit outcomes.
Modise has shared her concerns that
municipalities are not taking action against those responsible for poor
performance and transgressions.

Kgwele added that the interventional
support by the provincial treasurer and the department of local government and
traditional has yielded 100% submission of financial statements for audit.
