The North West Premier Thandi Modise said the R29 million spend by municipalities in consultants does not correspond with the audit outcomes.

Modise has shared her concerns that municipalities are not taking action against those responsible for poor performance and transgressions.

Premier’s Spokesperson Lesiba Kgwele said the Premier called for skills transfer to take place to build capacity within municipalities when consultants are employed.

Kgwele added that the interventional support by the provincial treasurer and the department of local government and traditional has yielded 100% submission of financial statements for audit.
