The Congress of South African Trade Union in the Western Cape today said the latest Stats SA figures clearly reflect that we need to be developing the economy in a way that creates more jobs, not less.

Cosatu said one of its concerns is that the job growth potential of the Western Cape economy is undermined by the economic route that the Western Cape economy is being put on.

WC Cosatu Spokesperson Tony Ehrenreich said the Western Cape is the only province that has had a reduction in the employment figures and as Cosatu they believe that has to do with the DA policies and defending the white interests.

Ehrenreich added that Cosatu is calling for an urgent change in the economic strategies and for the DA to stop defending white businesses and giving businesses.
