The Democratic Alliance will today lead a
protest outside the Western Cape High Court against the South African Roads
Agency Limited’s plan to construct tolls on the N1 and N2.
Socio-economic impact study has shown that Mitchell’s Plain and Khayelitsha are the two areas in the province that will be the hardest hit by the planned toll roads.
DA’s media manager Liza Albrecht said the
City is trying to prevent SARAL from carrying on with this N1 and N2 Winelands
toll project, until the City has received all the documentation and all the
information that it asked SANRAL for.
Albrecht explained that they feel that it
is crucial that they try to stop SANRAL from going on with this project until
all the information has been gathered.
