Minister of Energy Dipuo Peters today said in order for the energy sector to succeed it dependents on developments in South Africa as well as internationally.
Peters was speaking at the Departments Budget Vote in Parliament.
In the last financial year the department has spent 98.9 percent of its R6.7 billion budget.
Minister Peters said in 2011 there were a total of approximately 15,000 households in the category today they have electrified 10. 00.
Meanwhile several allegations include financial mismanagement has in recent months surfaced about PetroSA.
The Hawks started an investigation into allegations of criminal activity at PetroSA in April 2013.
The Department of Energy at that time welcomed the investigation saying the department views these allegations in a serious matter.
