Three people were injured at a rugby match in Bellvile South

Three people were hospitalized following the collapse of a stand in Bellville South on Saturday.

It is alleged that the stand fell due to overcrowding at the stadium.

t the time of the collapse the Kasselsvlei Technical School was playing against Bellvile South Secondary School in the FNB Challenge.

City Disaster Management Team Spokesperson Wilfred Johannes-Solomons said Deon Visagie a 36 year-old and John Bester 59 year-old have since been discharged from hospital but Theunissen remains in hospital for suspected broken bones.

Johannes-Solomons further said the cause of the accident remains unknown at this stage and the police are investigating.
