The City of Cape Town is conducting a feasible study for Wi-Fi in townships

The City of Cape Town is conducting a feasible study for Wi-Fi internet to be available in Khayelitsha and Mitchell’s plain. 

This is after Premier Helen Zille in her State of the Province Address this year announced the Western Cape government’s intention of rolling out broadband projects across the province.

Premier’s Spokesperson Zak Mbhele said one of the initial stages of this broadband projects is the establishment of a wireless network.

Mbhele added that this would ensure Wi-Fi coverage across build both those areas, starting from the end of 2014 beginning of 2015.
