The African National Congress in the Western Cape has lashed out the DA-led government in the province for being in denial of exposure of undignified toilets.

This week Mayor Patricia De Lille slammed the Human Rights Commission over its independent probe of the toilet saga.

ANC Provincial leader Lynne Brown said the DA government should do some retrospection over the city’s sanitation crisis.

Brown said that Mayor Patricia De Lille has attacked the Human Rights Commission for findings against the City of Cape Town in relation to the portable flush toilets.

“The Human Rights Commission is actually a chapter 9 institution founded in the constitution of our country and we take an oath to ensure that these institutions that we have to protect our democracy actually are able to work in our provinces,” said Brown.

She added that the community does not want these portable toilets.
